Second Language Teaching and Learning
I am a full-time Associate Professor and also Deputy Head of the Linguistics Department, Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences, Macquarie University, Australia. I am involved with a postgraduate TESOL course aimed at practising school teachers seeking an ESL/EAL qualification, as well as people considering a career switch into English language teaching. I also conduct research in various areas of TESOL, including second language classroom interaction, language teacher cognition, international language students' study abroad experiences, and creativity in second language teaching and learning. My department leadership role is focused on learning and teaching.
